Do you have to buy a workbook first to purchase a custom hardcover book?
You can purchase a workbook or a custom hardcover book in any order you like. One option is to order a workbook first to complete at home or to give to someone as a gift. After you have completed your workbook you can write your story in ink in the workbook or use your workbook draft and go online and order a custom hardcover book of your story. Lastly, you can go directly to the custom hardcover book section online to write and order your story by following the directions for custom books.
Are the illustrations inside all the books in full color?
Yes. Each page of each book is professionally illustrated in full color.
Think It Ink It Publishing offers four professionally illustrated books, each illustrated by a different professional illustrator using his or her own unique style. All of our illustrators are chosen based on their creative talent and experience working in children’s media.
Will the book look like a hardcover picture book that I'd buy in the store?
The custom hardcover book that you order online is just like a book that you would buy in a store. The text that is typed into the computer will be placed into the book in Times New Roman font. The title and the writer’s name will be printed on the front cover, the writer’s dedication will be printed inside the book, and the writer’s photo and biography will be printed on the back cover. The dimensions of the book that you will receive in the mail are 6 5/8” X 9 ¼”.
What age is Think It Ink It for?
All! Our publishing program is for children of all ages and writing abilities. Books vary by number of pages, themes, and genres to provide something for every age.
Younger writers might dictate their story to an adult to write for them, while older writers might practice their writing skills, get feedback and revise their original Think It Ink It story.
Can I order more than one book at a time?
Order as many as you would like. There are four professionally illustrated books. Each is offered in two ways: the workbook and the custom hardcover books.
Do you offer Gift Certificates?
Yes. Email gift certificates are available.
I only used part of my Gift Certificate. What happens to the rest?
You can re-use it the next time you make a purchase. Your Gift Certificate will remain valid as long as there is a balance.
Can I purchase bulk orders?

My child and I have already written four Think It Ink It books. Are you planning to come out with new books?
Yes! New books are always in the works and we will keep adding new titles to our list. Before we went to print with these four titles we ran them past kids for their approval. To make all of our new titles better, give us your feedback on the titles you have completed. Let us know what you think, which ones you like and why…and we will quickly make more. What is the size of the book?
The dimensions of the custom hardcover book are 6 5/8” x 9 1/4”.
The dimensions of the workbook are 8 1/2” X 11”.
Do I own the rights to my story?
Yes. However, at all times the illustrations remain the copyright of the illustrator.
How long will it take to receive my book in the mail?
You will usually receive your workbook within 5 to 10 business days. For the custom hardcover books production times may vary. You should receive your custom hardcover book in approximately 2 to 4 weeks.
Will the printer correct any spelling errors?
No. It is very important to us to maintain the integrity of each person’s story, therefore we will not make any changes to a story that has been sent to be published. If you choose to correct spelling errors prior to submitting your story, use the “Spell Check” button provided on the website.
Some people choose not to change their child’s grammar or spelling, even if mistakes are made. The idea is that the child ends up with a book that most accurately represents who the child is at that age. Ultimately it is your decision to determine what the book looks like when it is complete.
Do you have to write something for every page?
No. At Think It Ink It there are no right or wrong answers. The story that a writer wants to tell is up to each individual author.
Do I have to type in the custom book all in one sitting?
Take as long as you would like to write your story. We offer a “Sign In” button so that you can register your name and a password. This allows you to save your work to your own personal file. Once you have signed in take as much time as you need to get your story to where you would like it. When you are ready, just click “Publish” to order your book!
Can I mail you my written workbook to get printed?
We do not accept story drafts via mail. You can, however, copy what you wrote in your workbook into our website by following the custom hardcover book directions.
How long will my story be saved in my account?
As long as you are registered, your story will be stored. It will be stored indefinitely unless you hear from us otherwise.
Can I purchase this product if I live outside of the United States?
You can purchase a workbook or custom hardcover book, but we are only able to ship within the Continental U.S. at this time.
What does “Be Published” mean?
Children learn in school that to “be published” means to write their story in ink. The dictionary defines ”publish” as “to make generally known” or ”to produce or release for distribution; specifically: Print.” Think It Ink It Publishing created a product to support both of these definitions.
